a) How to set up permalink structures in WordPress

Setting up a simple permalink structure

1. Log in to WordPress and select Settings on the menu on the left side of the dashboard, then click the “Permalinks” button.

2. Then, select the “Post name” button and click the Save Changes button to set a simple permalink structure.

Adding Custom Permalinks

1. Log in to WordPress and select Settings on the menu on the left side of the dashboard, then click the “Permalinks” button.

2. Then, select the “Custom Structure” button and enter the code in the Custom Structure box.

3. After that, click on the “Save Changes” button, and we can open it by navigating to “Settings” and then “Add any extension to the page”.

4. Next, enter .html or any other extension you want to add, and click the Update Settings button.

5. Finally, return to the Settings and Permalink and click “Save changes” without altering the settings to reset the permalinks, ensuring the new extension is compatible with your WordPress site.

b) How to set the permalinks for posts and pages

After setting up your permalink structure, you can edit your posts and pages through the edit screen on each page. A small area below the title field allows you to change the permalink by clicking the “Edit” button. It’s standard practice to use the full title of a post or a shortened version.
