Comprehensive Guide to IP Exclusion in Smarter Stats Log Imports

Site administrators can create exclusions or inclusions in reports by adding log processing rules, formerly known as import filters. For instance, a company can exclude its own IP addresses to ensure only external website visitors are reported.

a) How do I exclude an IP address from log import ?

1. First, log in as a site administrator.

2. Then, click on the Settings icon.

3. After that, click on General Settings.

4. Next, click on the “Log Processing Rules” tab.

5. Then, click the Add menu in the content pane toolbar and select Log Processing Rules.

6. After that, select the appropriate action, such as excluding IP addresses, IP address ranges, files, directories, including directories, excluding host headers, or including host headers, in the type field.

7. Next, enter the desired appropriate IP addresses, ranges, paths, filenames, directories, or host headers to exclude or include from statistics.

8. Then, click OK.

9. Finally, click Save.
