Monitoring DNS Changes: A Guide to cPanel’s Track DNS Feature

cPanel’s DNS allows users to determine the domain’s universal DNS, providing IP address, mail server and origin DNS information, which is useful for retrieving network information.

a) How to use Domain Lookup in cPanel

1. Log into cPanel and navigate to the Advanced section to select Track DNS tool or search for the Track DNS tool in the search bar.

2. Then, enter the domain name you are looking for in the domain name search interface.

3. After that, click on the Look Up button to find the domain’s DNS which provides the IP address, mail server details and the original DNS information in the zone information.

b) How to use Trace Route in cPanel

1. Log into cPanel and navigate to the Advanced section to select Track DNS tool or search for the Track DNS tool in the search bar.

2. Then, navigate to the Trace Route interface and click the Trace button to obtain information about the route between your web server and you.
