Modifying the server’s Windows regional settings is not recommended due to potential GRP file corruption and Smarter Mail issues. This can occur when the default code page changes, such as from English to Japanese. It is advised to return the Windows regional settings to their initial values.

a) How do I run Smarter Mail after changing the Windows locale ?

1. First, open the Settings.json file in a text editor, and the default installation path is C:\Program Files (x86)\ SmarterTools\SmarterMail\Service\Settings\.

2. Then, delete the following lines:

"CodePage": 1252
},

3. Finally, restart the Smarter Mail service.
