Advanced Techniques: Navigating “No Subject” or “No Sender” Messages in Smarter Mail

“No Subject” and “No Sender” messages in webmail may indicate deleted or corrupted messages in the .GRP data file, which could be due to antivirus products scanning the Smarter Mail domain folder, a bad POP3/IMAP session, or other reasons.

a) How do I configure “No Subject” or “No Sender” messages in Smarter Mail ?

1. First, stop the SmarterMail service and verify that mailservice.exe is no longer running.

2. Then, navigate to the user folder containing the No Subject/No Sender email.

3. After that, delete the file mailbox.cfg.

4. Next, start the Smarter Mail service.

5. Finally, log into your mailbox.

Note: Restarting the Smarter Mail service after deleting mailbox.cfg may reset the timestamps of messages in this folder to midnight while keeping the date and marking all messages as read.
