Securing Communication: A Guide to Encryption in cPanel

cPanel supports GnuPG, an open-source software that uses cryptographic algorithms to encrypt and decrypt messages. It uses public and private key infrastructure to enhance the security of sensitive emails by allowing the sender to encode the message using the recipient’s public key and decrypt it using the recipient’s private key.

a) How to create a GnuPG key in cPanel

1. Log into cPanel and navigate to the Email section to select Encryption tool or search for the Encryption tool in the search bar.

  • y represents the year; 1y represents 1 year.
  • w means week; 2w means 2 weeks.
  • d stands for day; 4d stands for 4 days.

4. Next, select a secure key size from the drop-down list, as larger sizes are more secure.
