Hyper-V is Microsoft’s native hypervisor that enables the creation and management of virtual machines and their resources, enabling the independent running of multiple guest operating systems, virtualization of servers and workloads, and ensuring business continuity.

a) How do I create a new virtual machine using a GUI ?

1. First, select New… | Virtual Machine… from the Actions pane within the Hyper-V console and click Next in the first window of the wizard.

2. Then, give the virtual machine a descriptive name and select the folder path where the virtual machine configuration settings will be saved. Click next to continue.

3. After that, select the generation of the virtual machine to be created and click Next to continue.

4. Next, select the desired virtual network for the virtual machine, add any necessary network adapters, and click “Next” to proceed.

5. Then, use the “Create a Virtual Hard Disk” option, specifying the Hyper-V storage location and disk size, or create a new virtual machine without a hard disk attached to connect a virtual machine to a virtual hard disk.

6. After that, select the installation method for the virtual machine, including ISO files, bootable CDs, DVD-ROMs, shared folders, or later installation. Click next to proceed.

7. Next, the virtual machine will be created after clicking Finish, which should take a few seconds depending on your physical hardware.
