Troubleshooting Absent Bandwidth and Referral Information in Smarter Stats

The default settings in IIS do not log bandwidth or referral information, preventing SmarterStats from including these details in reports.

a) How do I enable the recording of bandwidth and referral information in IIS6.0 ?

1. First, log into the Smarter Stats server.

2. Then, navigate to Start and click Control Panel to select Administrative Tools.

3. After that, run Internet Information Services (IIS).

4. Next, expand the Websites folder in IIS to locate the unreported website.

5. Then, go to the site’s properties.

6. After that, click on the Properties button under the Website tab.

7. Next, click the Advanced tab and check sc-bytes, cs-bytes, and cs (referrer).

8. Then, click OK until you return to IIS.

9. Finally, close IIS.

b) How do I enable the recording of bandwidth and referral information in IIS7.0 ?

1. First, log into the Smarter Stats server.

2. Then, navigate to Start and click Control Panel to select Administrative Tools.

3. After that, run Internet Information Services (IIS).

4. Next, expand the Websites folder in IIS and locate the unreported website.

5. Then, select the site and turn on logging.

6. After that, click the Select fields button and check sc-bytes, cs-bytes, and cs (referrer).

7. Next, click OK.

8. Then, click Apply.

9. Finally, close IIS.

c) How do I enable the recording of bandwidth and referral information in IIS8.0 ?

1. First, log into the Smarter Stats server.

2. Then, navigate to Start and click Control Panel to select Administrative Tools.

3. After that, run Internet Information Services (IIS).

4. Next, expand the Websites folder in IIS and locate the unreported website.

5. Then, select the site and turn on logging in the Functions view.

6. Next, click the Select Field button next to the log format selector in the Log File area.

7. After that, check sc-bytes, cs-bytes, and cs (referrer).

8. Then, click OK.

9. Next, click Apply in the Actions area on the right.

10. Finally, close IIS.
