Resetting Your WordPress Password: Step-by-Step Guide

WordPress allows users to reset their account password through various methods, including email recovery within the WordPress interface, but some hosts may not support email due to technical issues, necessitating alternative methods.

a) How to reset your WordPress password on the WordPress dashboard

1. Log in to WordPress and select Users on the menu on the left side of the dashboard.

2. Then, hover over your administrator username and click the Edit button.

3. After that, enter your new password and click on the Update Profile button to reset your password.

4. Finally, you will receive a message that your profile has been updated and your password has been successfully reset.

b) How to reset your WordPress password through email

1. First, go to your WordPress login page and click the Lost your password? link.

2. Then, enter your WordPress username or email and click the Get New Password button to reset your password.

3. After that, you’ll receive a reset password link in your email to click on and reset your password.

4. Finally, type the new password and confirm it before clicking the Reset Password button to reset your password.

c) How to rest your WordPress password via PHPMyAdmin manually

1. Log into PHPMyAdmin. (You can get your PHPMyAdmin URL inside your cPanel or Plesk.)

2. Then, click the name of your WordPress database.

3. After that, it will display the list of tables in the WordPress database and select the wp_users table.

4. Next, click Edit for the WordPress admin user.

5. In the user_pass field, enter the required password and select MD5 from the drop-down list.

6. Finally, click the Go button, and you will receive a message indicating that your database record has been successfully updated and your password has been successfully reset.
