Sucuri Server Side Scanner Management: A Guide to Setup

File Transfer Protocol is an Internet tool that enables file transfer between computers using TCP/IP. It allows access to directories or folders on remote computers, facilitating the transfer of software, data, and text files between local hosts and remote hosts.

a) How do I enable a server-side scanner through File Transfer Protocol (FTP) in Sucuri Firewall Protection ?

1. First, review and save your FTP settings.

2. Then, log in to Sucuri Firewall Protection.

3. After that, navigate to the drop-down menu and click on the Settings link.

4. Next, click on the Server-Side Scanner link.

5. Then, fill in the fields on the FTP connection page.

Setting Example
Connection Select FTP.
FTP Hostname example.com
FTP Port 21
FTP Username example
FTP Password Enter your FTP Password.
FTP Directory Enter your website’s document root here. Usually, it is /public_html/.

 

6. After that, click on the Enable Server-Side Scanner button.

7. Finally, the server-side scanner has been activated.

b) How do I manually enable server-side scanners in Sucuri Firewall Protection ?

1. First, log in to Sucuri Firewall Protection.

2. Then, navigate to the drop-down menu and click on the “Settings” link.

3. After that, click on the server-side scanner link.

4. Next, the website displays a message stating server-side scanning is disabled. To enable this feature, connect to the website via FTP or SFTP to upload server-side files. Once the upload is complete, click the Enable Manually link.

5. Then, download the files listed in step 1.

6. After that, log in to cPanel and click on the “File Manager” link in the “Files” section.

7. Next, navigate to the “/public_html” folder in the document root of your website.

8. Then, click the Upload link at the top of the page.

9. After that, drag and drop your downloaded file or click on the “Select File” button to select it.

10. Finally, return to the Sucuri tab and click on the “Verify File and Enable” button.
