To ensure a clean and clear connection between Outlook and your Smarter Mail account using MAPI, follow these steps, whether it’s your first time or you need to reset the connection, to ensure seamless sync between the two accounts.

a) How do I remove my Outlook profile?

1. First, press the Windows key on your keyboard to access the search bar in Windows.

2. Then, type “Control Panel” and press Enter.

3. After that, enter “Mail” in the Search Control Panel text box, which should be highlighted by default, and press the Enter key.

4. Next, click on the search result.

5. Then, the “Mail Settings” box opens, and then click the “Show Profile” button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. After that, select the profile you want to delete and click on the Delete button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. Next, click the “Yes” button, and your account will be restored once you return to delete a profile and offline cached content.

8. Finally, click Apply, and then click OK to delete the profile.

b) How do I delete leftover Outlook provisioning files and folders?

Note: To delete files associated with a deleted profile, you can use Outlook to delete them for different accounts, but this can be challenging.

1. First, press the Windows key on your keyboard to access the search bar in Windows.

2. Then, type C:\Users\[your computer username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook or navigate to C:\Users\[your computer username] and add \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook to the path in the address bar.

3. After that, click on “Enter”.

4. Next, the Outlook folder should open, and several files and folders should appear.

5. Finally, right-click on all items in the folder and select Delete from the context menu. Administrator rights may be required for this operation.

c) How do I remove the MAPI connection?

1. First, log into the Smarter Mail web interface.

2. Then, click on the Settings icon.

3. After that, click on “Connectivity” in the navigation pane.

4. Next, navigate to the “Synchronized Devices” card and look for the entry there to access Outlook (MAPI).

5. Finally, click on the entry and select the “Delete” button to remove a connection from Smarter Mail.
