Hyper-V is a widely used server virtualization solution for enterprises, enabling multiple virtual operating systems on a single computer for testing and business applications, sometimes necessitating virtual machine cloning.

a) How do I clone a virtual machine to the library and reuse the clone ?

1. First, select a virtual machine, click Create, and click Clone. Enter a virtual machine name and description, optionally matching the actual computer hostname. Click Next.

2. Then, accept the default hardware settings in the Configure Hardware section.

3. After that, choose a target like a running Hyper-V host or SCVMM library, select Store VM in a library, and choose the discovered library server. Click Next to continue.

4. Next, specify the destination folder in the SCVMM library configuration where the cloned VM should be stored.

5. Then, click Next and then Create to complete the cloning wizard.

6. Finally, select Library from the SCVMM console and choose your library server. The SCVMM library provides various resources, including our clone server.
