Efficient Service Switch: Migrating an Account into Smarter Mail

The Webmail interface’s mailbox migration tool allows users to import email and collaboration data from various third-party mail servers and mail services like Yahoo!, Office, others.com, and Zimbra.

Note: To access calendars, contacts, notes, and tasks from Smarter Mail, the account must have MAPI/EWS enabled; otherwise, the connection will default to IMAP, transferring only email.

a) How do I migrate an account from another service into Smarter Mail ?

1. First, log into Smarter Mail as a user.

2. Then, click on the Settings icon.

3. Next, click “Connectivity” in the navigation pane. The Connections page allows you to add cloud file storage providers, SMTP accounts, view connected devices, and migrate messages from third-party services or other mail servers.

4. After that, click the “Migrate” button.

5. Then, mailbox migration mode allows users to select a service or mail server to migrate their data, choose a suitable starting point, and click on its icon.

6. The information needed for migrating to a service or server varies, with Smarter Mail sometimes providing the server address. For instance, migrating from Office.com requires only your email address and password, while migrating from another email server like MailEnable requires more detailed information like the server address, port number, and migration type (POP or IMAP).

7. Finally, the mailbox migration process begins after filling in the necessary information and selecting items to migrate. The migration progress is monitored, and the time required depends on the amount of data, internet connection, and other factors.

Note: The Mailbox Migration Tool transfers email, contacts, calendars, tasks, and notes from a single third-party mailbox to your Smarter Mail mailbox, if supported.
