What are the domain name extension that I can register? |

At WebServer.com.my, we support all international domain extension include, .com, .net, .org, .cc, .ws,. .sg, .my, .hk, .th, .biz, .info, .tv etc.. |

How long does it take to set up a new account? |
|
|
Depending on the amount of traffics InterNIC or MYNIC currently dealing with, your site may the registered as early as the same day up to 3 days after submission. (InterNIC or MYNIC registration and processing can take between 24 - 72 hours).
Once your account is activated, you will receive an E-mail from webserver.com.my with your relevant account information. |

What are the charges for domain name registration? |

Separate InterNIC or MYNIC fees will apply for all domains. |

InterNIC is the central domain registrar for
.COM, .NET and .ORG top level domain names. |
|
- |
InterNIC requires that you pay an annual fee of RM100.00 (US$27.00) to reserve and setup your own domain name. |
|
- |
MYNIC is the central domain registrar for
.COM.MY, .NET.MY and .ORG.MY Malaysian top level domain names. |
|
- |
MYNIC fee are RM100 per year. |
|
- |
All InterNIC and MYNIC fees are billed separately from webhosting fees. |

Who is eligible to apply for .EDU top-level domain? |
|
|
The .EDU top-level domain is intended for four-year, degree-granting
colleges and universities.
Therefore, the .EDU domain is not available to foundations, institutions, consortia, centers, etc., even though they may have an educational mission. Many of these types of organizations have chosen to register their domains in the .ORG top-level domain. |

What type of domain is allowed to be registered under .MY? |
|
|
MYNIC only allow the following domain to be registered under .MY :
*.com.my : Private/Commercial organization
*.edu.my : Educational organization
*.gov.my : Government organization
*.net.my : Network service related organisation
*.org.my : Private non profit organization |
Only organisations are eligible to apply for and own domain names. Registration is not open to individuals.
Organisations requesting for domain registration under MY must have local presence. Organisations registered with the Registry of Companies (ROC) or Registry of Business (ROB) in Malaysia may apply for a domain under COM.MY or NET.MY .
Only organisations registered with the Registry of Society Malaysia can apply for a domain under ORG.MY .
EDU.MY can be applied by Educational institutions that are registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Malaysia.
GOV.MY domain can only be applied by Malaysian government
organisations. |
