The charity event that can be registered on the website www.saveonesight.com aims to achieve a record-breaking participation from the public for the one day Glaucoma eye check to be held on Friday, 12 March 2010.

Webserver.com.my said that more people should be aware of the glaucoma disease as it is the leading cause of blindness and hopes that the website saveonesight.com will increase public awareness and gain support to achieve the record breaking glaucoma eye check event.

Spanning across 15 venues within Klang Valley the glaucoma eye check starts from 10am – 5pm on Berjaya Times Square and move on to Prince Court Medical Centre, Gleneagles Hospital, Puchong Klinik Pakar Mata, ISEC Mid Valley, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Vista Bangsar, Vista The Curve, Vista Klang, Tun Hussien Oon Eye Hospital, Center for sight, Subang Eye Specilist, Columbia Asia Puchong, KL Eye Specialist Centre, Ampang Puteri Specialist, Optimax HQ, Optimax in Kajang and ends in Optimax in Shah Alam.

MGS president and founder Stevens Chan said with the website saveonesight.com to create more awareness, the aim for the World Guinness Record is to achieve at least three thousands participants on the eye check event and to setup an eye check center in future to provide counseling to people who are suffering from the glaucoma disease.

“We don’t want to see another family who break up and suffer because of this disease, it is not easy to handle so we encourage all people to do this free eye check for at least once a year” said Stevens Chan.

The Glaucoma disease is known as the silent thief of sight that currently has no cure and has affected more than 68 million people worldwide and is expected to increase to 88 millions by 2020.

We will officially be known as Malaysia Glaucoma Society (MGS) in March 2010 as we hope to serve all Malaysians in the fight to reduce unnecessary blindness. To ping in Windows (OS)
01. Go to ‘Start’ –> ‘Run’ –> then type in ‘cmd’ (without quotes)
02. At the command prompt, type in ‘ping mail.domain.com’ (without quotes)
03. Press Enter

To ping in MAC (OS)
01. Double-click on the Hard Drive icon > Applications folder > Utilities folder > Network Utility program
02. Select the Ping tab and enter the hostname, where hostname can be a domain name, a machine name or an IP address. In your case please enter the name ‘mail.domain.com’ (without quotes)
03. Press Enter
